The Tarrahill wines released for this year have been made available to the Mailing List and after November 25th, 2017 will be generally available.

Chardonnay 2016.jpg

Tarrahill Chardonnay 2016

The 2016 Chardonnay has the full flavour and richness of the 2014, displaying white stone fruit flavours with a light oak touch. It is ready to drink now.

$30 per bottle.

We have also selected two barrels to produce the 2016 Chardonnay Reserve.

This wine is more intense, with a tighter palette combined with exceptional 50% new French oak. It will repay cellaring and should develop into a wonderful mature Chardonnay.

$50 per bottle.

le savant 2016.jpg

Tarrahill Le Savant 2016

Le Savant is our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, sometimes enhanced with other estate wines.

The first Le Savant in 2014 was rated 97 by James Halliday. This is our second Le Savant and the 2016 has a small (less than 10%) amount of Shiraz included. In future years when our new plantings are producing, we will have the possibility of blending Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot - very exciting!

The 2016 Le Savant is a beautiful silky cabernet with bright fresh fruit and fine tannins. Its elegance means it is able to be enjoyed now and its structure will reward cellaring for 5-10 years.

$80 per bottle.

le batArd 2016.jpg

Tarrahill Le Bâtard 2016

Le Bâtard is a "field blend"of our Pinot Noir and Shiraz. The combination of our full-bodied Pinots with our intense Shiraz means that Le Batard is a wine of substance, with very upfront fruit flavours yet with structure and length.

An excellent wine to enjoy by itself, Le Bâtard is well suited to rabbit, duck and pork dishes.

$30 per bottle.

Tarrahill Shiraz 2015

2015 in the Yarra Valley produced big wines and the 2015 Shiraz is no exception. It is huge - brimming with dark fruit ( and alcohol - 14.5%).

Not exactly the refined cool-climate shiraz we are seeking to produce, more like a Barossa shiraz. A red meat wine, to be consumed in moderation. It will last for a long time.

James Halliday rated it at 94 points and rated it special value for money.

"27yo vines, hand-picked, crushed/destemmed, fermented in tank with cultured yeast, 16 days on skins, matured in French oak (25% new) for 14 months. Strikingly deep, almost opaque, crimson-purple hue doesn't deceive: this full-bodied shiraz has a kaleidoscope of blackberry, black cherry, licorice, tar and spice aromas and flavours, oak and tannins also doing their duty. The one thing the wine cries out for is a minimum of 5 years, preferably 10, in the cellar."

$30 per bottle.

Tarrahill Pinot 2016

Another Pinot of substance from this vineyard. Similar to the 2014 Pinot Noir which won gold at the Melbourne International Wine Competition in the $30+ class and gave Tarrahill the award of "Yarra Valley Pinot Noir Winery of the Year". Will repay cellaring.

$40 per bottle.
